Integra LifeSciences (NSDQ:IART) said it launched a new regenerative medicine product, a meshed dermal regeneration template for treating 3rd-degree burns and scar contractures that haven’t responded to other therapies.
Integra said it’s planning a nationwide release of the product in January, followed by a presentation at the Boswick Burn & Wound Care Symposium in mid-February.
“Integra meshed dermal regeneration template is currently the only pre-meshed bilayer matrix approved by the FDA for 3rd-degree burns and scar contracture procedures,” orthopedics & tissue technologies general manager William Weber said in a statement. “It complements our burn product portfolio and combines the proven collagen technology of Integra dermal regeneration template with the convenience of a pre-meshed configuration.”
In November, Plainsboro, N.J.-based Integra announced plans to spin out its spine business as a stand-alone, publicly traded company under the SeaSpine brand it acquired in 2011 so it could focus on its surgical solutions, orthopedics and tissue technology businesses.
Integra acquired Medronic’s MicroFrance and Xomed manual ENT and laparoscopy instrument lines for $60 million in October.
