Inspire Medical (NYSE:INSP) today posted second-quarter results that came in ahead of the consensus Wall Street forecast.
The company also announced a new strategic growth plan aimed at creating additional investment capacity to accelerate revenue growth. It calls the plan “Project Horizon.”
Shares of INSP rose more than 13% to $59.18 apiece in post-market trading today. It comes as a welcome boost for the company, which faced a sell-off after announcing uncertainty around reimbursement last quarter.
The company’s new growth plan aims to align resources to revenue growth initiatives, streamline the organization and optimize supply chain by consolidating production to support quality, scale and efficiency.
Inspire expects a total of $20 million to $25 million in pre-tax restructuring charges in connection with the first phase of the new strategy. That includes approximately $4 million to $5 million in employee-related costs, plus $16 million to $20 million in other expenses (non-cash in nature).
The company expects its actions to create approximately $30 million in annualized growth investment capacity. It expects to invest this capital in revenue growth initiatives. Inspire expects the majority of actions related to the restructuring to be completed in the third quarter, with all actions to be substantially complete by the end of 2026. It did not specify if the restructuring includes any job cuts, like the one recently announced at Boston Scientific.
