W.L. Gore & Assoc. said it won CE Mark approval in the European Union for its Excluder iliac branch stent graft.
Gore said the device is designed to isolate the common iliac artery from systemic blood flow, preserving flow in the external and internal iliac arteries, when used with Excluder AAA endoprosthesis.
"The new Gore Excluder iliac branch endoprosthesis offers physicians a fully engineered system that enables the best possible patient care and fulfills an unmet clinical need. This new product reflects the needs of today’s vascular surgeons, and is driven by Gore’s commitment to delivering innovation by design," aortic business leader Ryan Takeuchi said in prepared remarks.
It’s the 2nd time this week Gore has been on the receiving end of a regulatory win. The Newark, Del.-based company yesterday said it landed pre-market approval from the FDA for its 25cm Viabahn stent graft for peripheral artery disease, claiming the device as the longest available on the U.S. market.
