Glaukos (NYSE:GKOS) announced today that it entered into a collaboration and marketing agreement with Radius XR.

Aliso Viejo, California-based Glaukos becomes the exclusive sales agent for the Radius XR wearable patient engagement and diagnostic system. The agreement gives the company the rights to market, promote and solicit orders for the platform in the U.S. Under the agreement, Radius XR continues to lead development and commercialization efforts for the platform.

The platform is a novel portable vision diagnostic and patient engagement system. Radius XR designed it to enable more efficient detection of eye disease and better management and treatment of sight-threatening conditions.

It combines medical-grade diagnostics, business management tools and patient education resources within a wearable spatial computing device. Glaukos says the hardware and software system offers tools to diagnose patients accurately, enhance engagement and reduce workload.

With the platform, patients can perform self-guided vision tests with minimal supervision. This aids eye care practices’ flow, efficiency and patient experience.

Radius XR CEO Ammad Khan called the agreement “a notable milestone” in a news release. The company expects Glaukos to provide resources for product development, enhancing benefits for providers and quality of care.

“We are delighted to partner with Radius to strengthen commercialization efforts and expand patient access for Radius’ innovative portable vision diagnostic system,” said Thomas Burns, Glaukos chair and CEO. “We believe the Radius XR platform is a novel technology that can help drive more efficient and improved diagnosis for patients suffering from chronic eye diseases, while also creating efficiency and growth opportunities for eye care practices.

“This collaboration aligns with our mission to meaningfully advance the standard of care and improve outcomes for patients suffering from chronic eye diseases.”
