Genetworx Labs announced today that it launched a diagnostic flu A-B/COVID-19/RSV combination test that uses just one sample.
Glen Allen, Va.-based Genetworx Labs’ Combo PCR test offers the ability to detect strands of influenza A and B, RSV and COVID-19 within the same sample, according to a news release.
The molecular diagnostic PCR test has provided a 98% accuracy rate for influenza, 99% accuracy for COVID-19 and 96% accuracy for RSV. Test results are available in 48 hours and can be accessed through an online portal, via text/phone or through the Aura COVID-19 software system.
“If you are showing symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, it’s important to know whether you or your loved one has COVID-19, influenza, or RSV. The only way to be sure is through diagnostic testing,” Genetworx Labs CEO William Miller said in the release. “With this new combination test, healthcare providers can provide an accurate diagnosis to patients and treat them with the appropriate measures. Patients then can observe appropriate quarantine measures to stop the spread.”
