GE HealthCare
(Nasdaq: GEHC)
today introduced its Genesis radiology workspace, a next-generation radiology workflow solution.
Chicago-based GE HealthCare says it designed Genesis to unify user experience and empower radiologists with efficacy and precision. It features Genesis View, an FDA 510(k)-pending viewer designed for fast diagnostics with zero footprint. Genesis View streamlines radiology workflows to enhance patient care with full accessibility from any location.
GE HealthCare said it built the technology for optimizing the radiology workspace for virtual use. It designed it to deliver high-performance 2D/3D visualization and AI-driven tools. The company said it seamlessly integrates with GE HealthCare’s fully managed Genesis portfolio of cloud solutions. It also provides access to the full suite of advanced visualization viewing applications.
Earlier this year, the company began selling its Genesis software as a service (SaaS) portfolio on the AWS Marketplace. This marks the latest milestone for the company, which also recently acquired cloud-enabling enterprise imaging software company Intelerad.
According to the company, its workspace gives radiologists the freedom to read from anywhere without sacrificing speed or accuracy. High-performance visualization adapts to individual reading preferences and automatically displasy current and prior studies.
The system also has user-defined AI prioritization to bring critical findings to the top, ensuring visibility. Genesis View also provides the capability for radiologists to reject/modify the AI findings provided by third-party AI apps based on their review. Its interoperability ensures smooth integration with EMRs and other healthcare systems, too.
“With Genesis Radiology Workspace, we’re redefining how radiology is practiced,” said Scott Miller, CEO, Solutions for Enterprise Imaging at GE HealthCare. “By combining cloud-native accessibility with embedded AI and advanced visualization, it is designed to enable diagnostic imaging professionals to work smart, fast, and from anywhere—without compromising diagnostic accuracy. This innovation is intended to address the pressures radiology departments face today, streamlining workflows, reducing cognitive burden, and ultimately improving patient care.”
