GE HealthCare announced today that its Genesis portfolio of cloud-based enterprise healthcare imaging software as a service (SaaS) products is now on the Amazon Web Services (AWS} Marketplace.
Storage, Genesis VNA, and True PACS SaaS are the first offerings from the Chicago-based medtech giant to go onto AWS Marketplace, Amazon’s digital catalog of software listings meant to make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software that runs on AWS.
According to GE HealthCare, its Genesis portfolio can streamline healthcare workflows, facilitate interoperability through centralized patient data storage and access, improve IT and clinical teams’ user experience, and support scalable deployment in the cloud.
“We are committed to delivering enterprise imaging solutions with our cloud strategy. Our Genesis portfolio can help improve patient care through accessible, sharable, and secure patient data while simultaneously improving clinical and operational efficiencies. Now, with its availability in AWS Marketplace, we are providing more ways for our customers to adopt these next-generation solutions so they can accelerate their digital transformation,” Scott Miller, CEO of Solutions for Enterprise Imaging at GE HealthCare, said in a news release.
Over the years, Amazon Web Services has become a significant provider of cloud-based software services for the medical device industry as it shifts toward more digital offerings. For example, Dutch medtech giant Philips announced last year that it was expanding its strategic AI collaboration with AWS. Other recent news includes AWS joining Johnson & Johnson Medtech and Nvidia in an AI fund for surgery.
When it comes to GE HealthCare, AWS has been the company’s strategic cloud partner for nearly 10 years. It’s supporting GE HealthCare’s goal to triple its cloud-enabled offerings by 2028.
