GE HealthCare
(Nasdaq: GEHC)
today announced an organizational change aimed at improving agility and addressing future imaging needs.
Chicago-based GE HealthCare named Roland Rott as president and CEO of Imaging as part of the shift. Phil Rackliffe becomes president and CEO of Ultrasound and Image-Guided Therapy (IGT). The changes go into effect on July 1, 2024.
The company said both leaders bring decades of deep experience in healthcare innovation and experience leading global teams.
Rott previously served as president and CEO, Ultrasound. Rackliffe held the post of president & CEO for IGT. GE HealthCare’s realignment combines IGT, a $1.6 billion subsegment of Imaging, with Ultrasound. This forms a global business worth more than $5 billion in annual revenue, according to a news release.
GE HealthCare says the change better matches clinical usage and helps to realize stronger business and customer impact, providing the right image guidance in the right care settings.
Without IGT, Imaging remains GE HealthCare’s largest segment, with more than $8.9 billion in annual revenue. The company wants to focus this segment on solutions around surgical and interventional procedures. It singled out interventional cardiology and structural heart as particular areas of interest.
GE HealthCare plans to provide recast financial results to reflect this change in its third-quarter results.
“Roland and Phil will bring fresh viewpoints, global perspective, and deep industry expertise to our Imaging segment and new Ultrasound and IGT segment. Elevating leaders who have a deep understanding of our customers’ needs, market trends, and our strategic focus will help enable us to accelerate innovation and growth,” said Peter Arduini, CEO of GE HealthCare. “Roland and Phil are proven leaders who are well positioned to take on these new opportunities, drive our precision care strategy, and deliver for patients and customers.”
