GE HealthCare launches new breast imaging systems

GE HealthCare (Nasdaq:GEHC) announced today that it launched its new Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue platforms.

The new ABUS (automated breast ultrasound) offerings expand the Chicago-based company’s breast imaging portfolio with solutions designed to support supplemental screening for women with dense breasts, providing more flexible enterprise-wide exam review.

GE HealthCare said its new FDA-cleared solutions aim to help breast imaging programs standardize 3D ultrasound acquisition, support remote reading and simplify deployment across multi-site networks.

When used alongside mammography, Invenia ABUS Prime supports earlier cancer detection. GE HealthCare says it helps support standardized exams, more efficient workflows and operational consistency. It particularly achieves this in multi-site imaging environments.

Features include cSound Imageformer with AI-enabled tools. Among those, Scan Quality Assessment and Auto Nipple Detection (powered by Verisound AI) help deliver consistent, reproducible, high-quality scans and greater clinical confidence. The platform also offers a Fast Scan tool for increasing scan speed by up to 40% and a next-generation Reverse Curve transducer. AI-supported reading powered by QVCAD also streamlines review.

ABUS StreamVue, meanwhile, offers a zero-footprint, browser-based reading solution for standardizing ABUS exam review with remote access. The company collaborates with Candelis to deliver ABUS StreamVue in combination with Invenia ABUS Prime.

GE HealthCare said one of the first U.S. installations took place at BeSound in Los Angeles.
