Saccaro notified the company on July 21 that he plans to resign for a role “outside of the medical technology industry.” That role remains yet to be disclosed. He set Aug. 14, 2026, as his final day with the Chicago-based medtech giant.
Today, GE HealthCare said it named George Newcomb, its controller and chief accounting officer, as interim CFO, effective Aug. 14. The company also said it began the search process for a permanent successor.
Saccaro left Baxter, where he served as CFO as well, for the same post at GE HealthCare in 2023. Before his eight-year stint as Baxter CFO, Saccaro also served as SVP and CFO at Hillrom. He previously held the role of VP and treasurer at Baxter, having initially joined in 2002 as manager of strategy for its BioScience business.
Newcomb became controller of the healthcare business of GE in February 2016. He became controller and chief accounting officer of GE HealthCare in January 2023 in connection with the company’s spin-off from GE. Newcomb spent 20 years in a variety of finance leadership roles at GE Capital between 1996 and 2016 as well.
