Enovis
(NYSE: ENOV)
announced today that it appointed Damien McDonald as its new CEO, effective May 12, 2025.
McDonald will also join the Enovis board of directors after the company’s annual stockholder meeting on May 21. He succeeds Matt Trerotola, who in February announced his intent to retire as CEO and not stand for re-election to the board.
Upon the appointment of McDonald, to facilitate a smooth transition, Enovis and Trerotola plan to enter into a retirement and transition agreement. Trerotola agreed to continue to serve as an employee and exeuctive advisor for one year after the new CEO’s appointment.
“Damien has the experience, track record, and cultural fit to be a fantastic next leader of Enovis,” said Trerotola. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Colfax and Enovis for the past decade and look forward to a smooth transition that continues to build on the company’s great operational and strategic momentum.”
McDonald, a veteran of more than 35 years in medtech, most recently served as CEO of LivaNova. Over six years there, he drove improvements in growth, profitability and shareholder value before resigning in April 2023 after some pipeline disappointments at LivaNova.
Prior to LivaNova, McDonald served as group executive and VP at Danaher, leading a $1.5 billion group of dental consumables. He also spent time leading Zimmer’s spine division and global marketing for Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s Ethicon business.
“I am honored to join the Enovis team at this exciting time in the Company’s history and to have the opportunity to lead the Company into its next phase of growth,” said McDonald. “I share the Company’s vision of developing innovative technologies to improve patient outcomes and I look forward to building upon Enovis’ strong foundation and delivering exceptional value for all of our stakeholders.”
