Creganna-Tactx Medical CEO Helen Ryan is preparing to pass the torch after 8 years in the corner office, with Abbott (NYSE:ABT) executive Robert "Chip" Hance slated to take the helm in September.
Hance worked at the Illinois-based device giant for 23 years, most recently as head of the vascular division where he led the roll-out of the Xience stent in the U.S., Japan and China.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen for the leadership and strong customer focus she has shown in her role as chief executive," said chairman Scott Ward in prepared remarks. "Thanks to Helen’s commitment and vision, Creganna-Tactx Medical has a strong and solid future as a leader in delivering medical technology solutions."
Ryan, who spent her earlier career in R&D roles at Covidien (NYSE:COV) and Medtronic (NYSE:MDT), will stay on until the end of the summer. Creganna-Tactx did not state the reason for the swap.
