— the sixth-largest orthopedic device company in the world — plans a new facility in the Austin, Texas suburb of Cedar Park.
“Central Texas has been home to the Enovis Surgical business for over 30 years, and we are thrilled to continue our local growth by making a commitment to expand our manufacturing operations into the city of Cedar Park,” Tony Stallings, Enovis’ SVP of operations and supply chain, said in a news release posted yesterday by the city’s economic development and tourism department.
“Cedar Park’s high-tech infrastructure and welcoming culture will provide a great environment for our employees to thrive as they develop orthopedic solutions that healthcare professionals and their patients count on — here in Texas and beyond.”
The local Community Impact news site quoted a city spokesperson saying that the expectation is that the $25.5 million project will lead to 162 new jobs in the area.
Ed Latson, CEO of Opportunity Austin, said in the Cedar Park Economic Development & Tourism news release: “This investment highlights the strength of Cedar Park and the Austin region’s life sciences ecosystem as well as the area’s ability to support innovative companies with the talent, resources, and business-friendly environment they need to thrive.”
In the overall global medical device industry, Wilmington, Delaware–based Enovis ranks 55th by revenue, according to our annual Medtech Big 100 report. It listed a headcount of 6,550 in its most recent annual report.
