Coloplast will spend 16 billion DKK kr. (roughly $2.4 billion) to acquire laryngectomy care device company Atos Medical.
The Danish medtech giant in a Monday news release said Atos Medical’s goal of making life easier for people living with a neck stoma closely aligns with Coloplast’s purpose to serve people with intimate healthcare needs.
Paris-based private equity outfit PAI Partners is Malmö, Sweden–based Atos Medical’s present owner. Officials at the companies expect the deal to close early next year during the second quarter of Coloplast’s 2021-22 fiscal year, pending customary regulatory approvals.
Atos Medical will operate as a separate strategic business unit inside Coloplast once the deal is complete. It presently has a presence in 22 countries, including a U.S. location in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
