Rochester, New York-based Casana says the Smart Seat automatically monitors blood pressure trends, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate at home. It provides effortless, daily health tracking with nothing to wear, charge or learn.
The new smart toilet seat launch follows the launch of Heart Seat, which measures measures heart rate and oxygen saturation (SpO2), in 2023.
Smart Seat runs on a two-year battery with an installation process that only takes minutes. It also automatically recognizes up to five household members and encrypts health data for sharing only by the user’s choice.
All readings appear as wellness trends against a user’s own normal baseline and the system’s Smart Seat Companion App captures the data.
The company validated its Smart Seat using an arterial-line study and it has international patents for the underlying technology. Its launch follows new guidance from the FDA covering low-risk devices, issued in January 2026. The company said this guidance opened “clear regulatory room for at-home wellness vitals.”
Casana priced the Smart Seat at $199 for the seat and first full year of service. After the first year, service continues at $19.99 per month. The company has limited units available ahead of its July launch. Smart Seat remains categorized as a “wellness device” for general monitoring, not for medical use.
