Minnesota police finally nabbed fugitive Lyle "Ty" Hoffman, the man suspected in the fatal shooting of Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) executive Kelly Phillips.
Hoffman was arrested "without incident" in Shakopee, Minn., outside of an Arby’s restaurant where locals reported a suspicious man, the Associated Press reported.
The capture ends a weeks-long manhunt after Phillips was shot and killed at a gas station in Arden Hills on August 11, not far from where Hoffman was captured this week. Hoffman is also suspected of robbing a bank on August 30 to fund his getaway.
Hoffman was charged with 2nd-degree murder for killing Phillips, a vice president and attorney for Boston Scientific and Hoffman’s former lover. Witnesses told police the pair appeared to argue before Hoffman allegedly shot Phillips 3 times and then ran over his legs as he sped away, according to the reports.
Phillips was set to be married August 30; instead, friends and family held a memorial for him that day, according to the Star Tribune.
