Ferass Abuzaina joined Franklin Lakes, N.J.–based BD in 2023 and has held leadership positions across multiple businesses across the company. His most recent post was worldwide VP and GM of Advanced Repair and Reconstruction, within Surgery.
Abuzaina will be based out of BD Surgery’s headquarters in Warwick, R.I., and will report to Peter Menziuso, EVP and president of the Interventional segment.

I am confident his leadership will help us continue advancing solutions that improve outcomes for patients and clinicians around the world.”
The Surgery business’ chief product lines include hernia and soft tissue repair, biological grafts, bioresorbable grafts, biosurgery, and other surgical products, as well as the BD Surgiphor antimicrobial irrigation system and BD ChloraPrep surgical infection prevention products.
BD media relations didn’t immediately respond to a MassDevice query about Rian Seger, who had served as worldwide president of the Surgery business since 2024.
