Anumana announced today that it brought its diagnostic ECG-AI technology into perioperative and acute cardiac care with help from Boston Scientific.
Cambridge, Massachusetts–based Anumana said medtech giant Boston Scientific joined as a new investor in its Series C round. The undisclosed funding accelerates the development of a multimodal generative AI platform and software as a medical device (SaMD). Anumana says the funding supports its growth into new areas of care and advances its leadership in AI-powered cardiovascular diagnostics.
According to a news release, Anumana now plans to develop novel generative AI imaging and visualization technologies. It aims to enhance the precision and effectiveness of complex cardiac interventions. It expects the perioperative offerings to feature real-time imaging platforms and predictive algorithms for common interventions. These range across structural heart, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.
Along with its financial support, Boston Scientific agreed to collaborate with Anumana on this front, too. The two companies plan to create AI solutions for electrophysiology procedures, including treating AFib with cardiac ablation and left atrial appendage closure.
“This new investment is a strong validation of Anumana’s strategic direction and momentum,” said Maulik Nanavaty, chief executive officer of Anumana. “We’ve built a solid foundation in diagnostic cardiology AI, and we’re now extending that expertise into the perioperative setting. By applying generative AI to imaging and intraoperative support, we’re creating intuitive offerings to interpret complex data in real time and facilitate delivery of care.”
The Series C also included participation from longstanding investors Matrix Capital, Mayo Clinic, Matrix Partners, and NTTVC.
