5 next-gen heart valve replacement companies you need to know

They’re getting implanted in a less invasive way, and they’re getting better at mimicking the actual structure of the heart. Welcome to the world of next-generation heart valve replacement.

Join us on May 4, 2026, at our DeviceTalks Minnesota event at the University of Minnesota for our panel, “Engineering the Next Generation of Heart Valves.” We’ll explore the science and discuss the business strategy behind the space.

Panelists will include five next-generation heart valve replacement companies that are especially generating buzz in the space:

1. Anteris Technologies

Publicly traded on the Nasdaq and in Australia where it was founded, Anteris has a significant presence outside of Minneapolis in Eagan. Anteris’ DurAVR is shaped to mimic the performance of a healthy human aortic valve and aims to replicate normal aortic blood flow. Medtronic made a $90 million strategic investment in Anteris early this year. Hear from Anteris Technologies CEO Wayne Paterson at DeviceTalks Minnesota.

2. CroíValve

Doctors in Poland recently completed the first transcatheter treatment of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) using the CroíValve Duo Adapt system. Ireland-based CroiValve’s Duo is anchored in a novel way: A support catheter anchored to a stent in the superior vena cava secures the valve across the annulus. 3. Foldax

Salt Lake City–based Foldax designed its Tria mitral valve to accommodate the anatomy and pressures of the mitral position. It combines the company’s proprietary LifePolymer with a valve design for resisting calcification. The company says its valve withstands stresses and strains without failure, restoring quality of life without lifelong anticoagulant use. Foldax launched Tria in India last year. 4. Laplace Interventional

Plymouth, Minnesota–based Laplace develops a Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR) designed to improve the quality of life for those with tricuspid regurgitation. Delivered through a simple, 26 Fr trans-jugular procedure, the valve design is meant to enable the treatment of varying anatomies. There’s a flexible frame and tissue-to-tissue contact on the atrioventricular node and deicated provision for a future pacemaker lead. It closed a $22 million Series C last year. 5. TriCares

Munich, Germany–based TriCares’ Topaz is a transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement system featuring a unique dual-stent design and two valve sizes. It can fit into a low-profile catheter system. TriCares, which also operates out of Paris and Minneapolis,  announced earlier this month that it received FDA investigational device exemption (IDE) to study Topaz.
