John Hopkins Health System said it is expanding its relationship with group purchasing organization Premier Inc. (NSDQ:PINC), to include all 6 hospitals within its network.
All hospitals in the John Hopkins Health System will now use Premier’s suite of integrated supply chain services and will have the opportunity to participate in additional programs for analytics and performance improvement services. Previous to this expansion, only 3 of the hospitals were under the Premier umbrella, according to the press release.
"Johns Hopkins Medicine has long been an innovation center," Premier president & CEO Susan DeVore said in prepared remarks. "Premier recognizes the significant challenges facing healthcare institutions, and we understand the amount of change required to meet tomorrow’s demands. We’re excited about the opportunity to be an enabling agent of change, and look forward to serving Johns Hopkins."
PINC shares closed at a 1.4% increase yesterday, going for $35.50 per share.
