The U.S. Department of Defense awarded contract extensions worth a total $28.4 million to Hitachi’s (NYSE:HIT) Aloka Medical and to Omega Medical, according to a federal memo.
Wallingford, Conn.-based Hitachi Aloka Medical landed the 5th of 7 year-long options to an existing contract, winning the maximum $14.4 million award. The company will provide Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, & federal civilian agencies with radiology systems, subsystems, accessories, service, manual and repair parts.
Sanford, Fla.-based Omega Medical Imaging secured a $14 million 5th-year option to its existing contract to provide radiology systems, accessories, services and repairs to various military and federal civilian agencies.
Both contracts are expected to end in February 2015, according to a DoD press release.
