Zoll Medical today said it agreed to acquire Impact Instrumentation, which makes respiratory care devices, for an unspecified amount.
West Caldwell, N.J.-based Impact makes portable and automatic emergency ventilators, portable and onboard aspirators, custom mounting systems, and specialized testing systems, according to a press release.
The devices, including its Uni-Vent portable critical care ventilators and portable resuscitators and the Ultra-Lite portable aspirators, are used by the U.S. military on ships, aircraft, and other medical and transport services, Chelmsford, Mass.-based Zoll said.
"Zoll has partnered with the U.S. military for over 30 years, with an emphasis on advancing resuscitation and critical care technology," president Jonathan Rennert said in prepared remarks. "Impact’s strong alignment with Zoll’s existing military sales channel allows us to further expand our efforts to provide products known for the highest reliability in clinical performance and versatility to those serving in the military."
Zoll said the deal complements its existing product lines for military applications and touted Impact as the leading supplier of transport ventilators to the U.S. military.
