Zimmer (NYSE:ZMH) revealed in a regulatory filing that Jeffrey Paulsen, president of its global business division, is departing next week.
"The separation is not the result of any misconduct," according to the filing, which did not elaborate on the reasons for Paulsen’s departure.
Paulsen is leaving effective March 20, Zimmer said.
The Warsaw, Ind.-based medical device company hired Paulsen in January 2010, luring the ex-Stryker (NYSE:SYK) exec into the fold to head up its spine, dental, trauma and orthopedic surgical products units.
In addition to his tenures at Zimmer and Stryker, Paulsen’s resume includes a stint as COO of environmental services and facility management provider MPS Group Inc. and tenures at Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), McDonnell Douglas Corp. and TriMas Corp. (NSDQ:TRS). At Stryker, Paulsen held a series of titles, rising to president of its orthopedic reconstructive division.
A Zimmer spokesman told MassDevice.com in an email that the company has no further comment beyond the filing.
