Warsaw, Indiana-based Zimmer Biomet said the addition to its Persona portfolio builds on its commitment to personalized solutions. Persona Revision Knee provides advanced tools for revision knee arthroplasty.
The system offers a personalized fit and optimized function for patients undergoing revision knee surgery. A modular system, it allows for intraoperative flexibility. ZB said this enables surgeons to address a wide range of complex cases with precision and ease.
Persona Revision Knee features the orthopedic giant’s proprietary Trabecular Metal technology. This promotes long-term bone in-growth and improves implant fixation.
“After the successful introduction of Persona Revision Knee in the United States and other markets, the CE Mark certification and commercial launch extends its availability significantly so that more surgeons have access to an innovative solution that can enhance patient outcomes,” said Joe Urban, president, Knees at Zimmer Biomet.
Zimmer Biomet says Persona Revision Knee represents the leading product in the U.S. knee revision market valued at over $700 million. It has anatomic components and intuitive instrumentation, streamlining the revision surgery process. The company said it reduces complexity while improving precision.
With Persona Revision Knee, surgeons can make intraoperative adjustments to achieve optimal alignment and fit for each patient. This can lead to improved stability, mobility and implant longevity, according to ZB.
“We are excited to introduce the Persona Revision Knee to expand our industry-leading knee portfolio and to provide our customers and their patients with a system that is truly personalized, adaptable, and designed to restore natural knee motion,” said Wilfred van Zuilen, group president EMEA, Zimmer Biomet.
