Zargis Medical Corp. won clearance from Health Canada to bring its Cardioscan software to market north of the border.
Zargis, a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus Corp. (NSDQ:SPDE), said the product wirelessly links to an electronic stethoscope equipped with Bluetooth technology to help doctors diagnose heart murmurs.
The device also features optional telemedicine capabilities, meaning doctors could listen to patients’ heartbeats from remote locations, according to a press release.
The device was developed in conjunction with the 3M Corp. (NYSE:MMM), which along with Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) holds an equity stake in Zargis.
