Sprint and BodyMedia team up to track health: Sprint (NYSE:S) is partnering with Pittsburgh, Pa.-based BodyMedia to provide real-time connectivity between BodyMedia’s personal monitoring wristbands and Sprint’s smartphones. Similar to the popular FitBit, BodyMedia’s wristband tracks activity levels which are then stored and analyzed on a phone.

Google launches medical category for Android apps: iMedical Apps reported that Google Inc. (NSDQ:GOOG) officially launched its medical category for the Android Marketplace. Oddly, one of the "Medical" apps listed is something called "Battery Saver" by Easy Filter, writes EMR Daily News.
EMR iPad apps now number 26 in the iTunes app store: EMR Daily News did a check of EMR and EHR apps available for download in the Apple Inc. (NSDQ:AAPL) iTunes app store and the number available for download has grown to 26. When the publication checked the number of iPad apps available in October, there were only 19 and that number had grown from only 9 in July. Twenty of the apps are free, but that leaves six paid apps that range in price from $.99 to $49.99, writes the publication.
