
Waters Corp. (NYSE:WAT) posted second-quarter sales and earnings increases.
The Milford, Mass.-based mass spectrometry and chromatography equipment reported net income of $84.9 million, or 90 cents per diluted share, on sales of $391.1 million for the three months ended July 3. That compares with net income of $69.9 million, or 72 cents per share, on sales of $362.8 million during the three months ended July 4, 2009.
Chairman, president and CEO Douglas Berthiaume said the company saw "improved demand trends" during the quarter and logged "superior" sales growth in Asia.
