Endoscopic device maker Vision-Sciences Inc. (NSDQ:VSCI) announced that they had found someone to take over the corner office, naming Cynthia Ansari CEO.
Ansari steps will take over the top seat from interim CEO Warren Bielke, who has steered the company since his appointment in November, 2009, after previous CEO Ron Hadani resigned for personal reasons.
Ansari has nearly 20 years of experience in medical devices, most recently as VP of global marketing at Stryker Corp.’s (NYSE:SYK) Stryker Spine arm, which signed a three-year, private-label deal for flexible video and fiber cystoscopes with Vision-Sciences in September of last year.
Her appointment with the Orangeburg, New York-based takes effect today, according to a press release.

Blood management solutions giant Haemonetics Corp.’s (NYSE:HAE) announced that Sandra Jesse is its new vice president and chief legal officer, replacing Lisa Lopez who retired this year. Jesse was executive VP and CLO for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mass. since 1995. Her appointment is effective September 6, 2011.
- Quintiles appoints new chief medial & scientific officer
Research Triangle Park, N.C. -based Quintiles named Dr. Jeffrey Spaeder as chief medical & scientific offer, taking over for Dr. Oren Cohen who now leads the company’s phase I clinical research business.
- Imalux announces new president & COO
Cleveland, Ohio-based Imalux Corp. named James Fulton to the newly created role of president and chief operating officer.
- Former SNN CEO joins Varian board of directors
Palo Alto, Calif.-based radiotherapy, radiosurgery and brachytherapy company Varian Medical Systems Inc. (NYSE:VAR) announced that former Smith & Nephew (NYSE:SNN) CEO David Illingworth joined its board of directors. Illingworth retired as CEO of SNN in April of this year.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Imaging Diagnostic Systems Inc. (OTC:IMDS) announced that independent consultant David Schmidt joined its board of directors.
- Alphatec Holdings names Leslie Cross chairman of the board
Carlsbad, Calif.-based Alphatec Holdings Inc. (NSDQ:ATEC), parent company of Alphatec Spine Inc., announced that its board of directors elected Leslie Cross the non-executive chairman of the board.
