Vision-Sciences Inc. (NSDQ:VSCI) signed an agreement to manufacture endoscopic urology devices for Stryker Corp.’s (NYSE:SYK) in a three-year private-label deal.
The devices concerned are Stryker-branded flexible video and fiber cystoscopes that will also employ Vision-Sciences’ slide-on EndoSheath technology.
Vision-Sciences said it will also supply Stryker with its flexible ureteroscopes after the product’s launch, which the Orangeburg, N.Y.-based company expects in 2011.
Under the agreement, Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Stryker will pay Vision-Sciences at least $5 million for the products.
“We believe that our innovative EndoSheath system, coupled with Stryker’s highly professional and established sales and marketing forces, will result in effective market penetration for the products and improvement in our top-line revenue,” Vision Sciences chairman Lewis Pell said in prepared remarks.
