VasoNova Inc. will begin selling its Vascular Positioning System central venous catheter navigation technology through Marlborough, Mass.-based Navilyst Medical Inc.
The Menlo Park,Calif.-based vascular products maker last week signed the distribution agreement with Navilyst.
VasoNova’s VPS device uses Doppler ultrasound and other patient data to provide real-time confirmation PICC and CVC catheter placement in the lower one-third of the superior vena cava, according to the company. The device is the "first real-time intra-vascular catheter navigation technology that does not require external metal detectors or viewing screens, nor subjective interpretation of ECG signals,"CEO Paul Molloy said in prepared remarks.
The terms of the deal with Navilyst were not disclosed.
