Varian Medical (NYSE:VAR) has won an approximately $7.1 million delivery order against a five-year basic ordering agreement to supply the U.S. Department of Defense with two linear accelerator systems, according to a recently released DoD posting.
The deal comes through a one-year contract with no option periods, and was a competitive acquisition with two offers received by the DoD, according to the posting.
The linear accelerators will be supplied to the Navy, with a location or performance for the contract listed as California. The order has a performance completion date of April 17, 2020, and was contracted through the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, according to a DoD release.
Earlier this month, Varian Medical said it joined a $30 million Series B round of financing for embolic therapy tech developer ABK Biomedical.
