Ronda Stryker, granddaughter of Stryker Corp. founder Homer Stryker, continues to pare her stake in the medical device heavyweight, selling another 130,000 shares of stock in recent days.
Proceeds of the open-market transactions, completed during Monday trading and two days last week, total $5.2 million. Since early May, Stryker has sold more than 1.4 million shares, taking in $52.5 million.
Stryker, 54, is the sole founding family member on the Stryker Corp. board of directors. Overall, she controls about 35.1 million Stryker shares — or about 9 percent of the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based manufacturer’s stock — mostly through various trust accounts.
Her sales coincide with a modest rebound in Stryker’s share price. The stock is up about 25 percent since dipping below $32 per share in March, although at its current price (near $40), the stock still lags its 52-week high of $68.99 by more than 40 percent.
