PowerPlugs brings with it a key feature: AFib detection. This platform discreetly monitors heart rhythm every night to detect signs of the irregular heart rhythms. AFib detection on the company’s Ring Air smart ring is powered by FDA-cleared FibriCheck technology. It also has approval in Europe, among other geographies, according to the company.
Ultrahuman said in a news release that its Ring Air is the first smart ring in the world to offer AFib detection.
“We’re launching our first few PowerPlugs with a novel game changing capability, AFib detection,” Mohit Kumar, founder and CEO said. “This life saving technology comes with medical approval in limited markets currently and we’re aggressively launching new markets with regulator’s approval every few weeks.”
The London-based company built the PowerPlugs platform on top of its health and wellness data stack. Ultrahuman says it enables users to choose and focus on different aspects of their health through personalized insights.
Ultrahuman said other features of PowerPlugs include circadian rhythm, pregnancy mode, menstrual cycle tracking, caffeine consumption, Vitamin D intake, jet lag plans, glucose monitoring-based weight loss and fitness management and ovulation.
Kumar says users can expect “thousands of applications” built on Ultrahuman’s data platform in the next few years.
“When it comes to health, one size doesn’t fit all,” Kumar said. “Given our most comprehensive data stack of health markers from Ultrahuman Ring, M1 CGM, Ultrahuman Home and more to come, there’s infinite scope to build deep experiences over the next few years. Essentially, your Ultrahuman Ring will keep getting better after your purchase.”
