Toshiba Medical Systems (TYO:6502) announced FDA clearance for its next generation Vantage Titan 1.5T MR systems, which tout new aesthetic features as well as imaging upgrades.
The new imaging system comes with 8, 16 or 32 channels, and is upgradeable after purchase, according to a press release.
The device is designed with "patient-friendly" features, including a sleeker exterior and "patient-soothing" lighting around the device bore.
"With these new additions to the Titan 1.5T MR line, hospitals now have scalable MR technology options to meet a wider range of clinical needs," MR business unit director Stuart Clarkson said in prepared remarks. "Now, healthcare facilities can acquire an 8-channel system today with the knowledge that it can be upgraded to a high-end 1.5T MR system as a facility’s clinical applications expand and grow in the future."
