A Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO) subsidiary, Pittsburgh-based Fisher Scientific Co. LLC, won a $9.1 million contract to select a distributor for the U.S. Dept. of Defense’s laboratory integrated delivery system program.
The contract covers sites in Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Kentucky, Delaware, Colorado, Texas, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, New York, New Mexico, Washington, Georgia, Maryland and North Carolina, according to the Defense Dept.
The program enables research centers, hospitals and clinics associated with the U.S. military and federal civilian agencies to order lab supplies using a web-based platform. In 2003 Fisher Scientific won a $62.5 million DOD contract to supply lab equipment for the program.
