From disposable endoscopes to TAVR to robotic surgery, there’s a whole host of medtech advances widely available now that weren’t around much 10 years ago.
“In terms of technological advances, I would put this past decade as one of the most important for medical technology. From connected devices and robotics, to advances in material sciences and biologics, the technological leaps our industry made over the past 10 years are astounding,” Brian Johnson, president of medtech trade group MassMEDIC, told Medical Design & Outsourcing.
Shaye Mandle, CEO of the Minnesota-based Medical Alley Association, thinks the 2010s set the stage for a healthcare revolution. “Due to this decade of innovation, the 2020s promise to redefine health innovation and care, providing new opportunities for collaboration, patient-centric design and unique health consumer experiences. This is just the beginning of what’s possible,” Mandle said.
