GE Healthcare buys Unisyn's ultrasound probe repair biz

GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) said it acquired the ultrasound probe repair business of Unisyn Medical Technologies for an undisclosed amount. In a separate announcement, Unisyn said it will spin out its diagnostic imaging field service business under the Consensys Imaging Service brand.

Stryker to pay $162 million for French alloy maker Memometal

Stryker Corp. (NYSE:SYK) agreed to pay $150 million in up-front cash for Memometal Technologies SA, plus another $12 million in milestone payments.

Bruz, France-based Memometal makes implants for the extremities using shape memory alloys. The $162 million value of the deal is a 5.4x multiple of the $30 million the company posted to its top line last year.

Histogenics CEO denies Israeli report of R&D layoffs | Personnel Moves

Histogenics Corp., fresh from a merger with fellow Bay State firm Prochon Biotech, has no plans for layoffs, contrary to a report in an Israeli journal.

The Globes new outlet, a business daily based in Rishon Le-Zion, Israel, reported yesterday that Histogenics "will make substantial cuts" to its R&D unit in Ness Ziona.
