Two Ohio device firms vie for for state loans

Two Northeast Ohio medical device companies are under consideration for state loans worth a combined $1.1 million.

Columbus-based skin biopsy device maker CleveX Inc. is seeking a $637,500 loan to purchase equipment and machinery to boost production capacity for its ExiClip line of devices. The company aims to continue producing a version called the ExiClip-M, while also developing a new version for larger biopsies called the ExiClip-L.

Syncro Medical raises $500,000 in debt financing for magnetic feeding tube

Syncro Medical Innovations Inc. raised $500,000 in debt to continue development of a feeding tube for critically ill patients, according to a regulatory filing.

The latest funding follows an $800,000 infusion of capital in May and another $500,000 last summer. Both of those also came in the form of debt.

Syncro Medical Innovations raised an additional $500,000 in a debt offering it plans to use to more aggressively push an improved version of its innovative feeding tube to market.
