SpinalMotion raises another $11M, taking round to nearly $26M

SpinalMotion said it’s raised another $10.5 million, taking the total raised in the funding round to $25.5 million, according to a regulatory filing.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based medical device company raised the cash in an offering of equity, debt, options and warrants to 15 unnamed investors, according to the filing.

SpinalMotion wins FDA panel review date for metal-on-metal artificial disc

 Mountain View, Calif.-based medical device maker SpinalMotion will get its date with the FDA this summer, when a panel of experts will consider and make recommendations on the company’s Kineflex/C artificial disc.

On July 24, 2013, the FDA’s orthopedic & rehabilitation devices panel will review information on the Kineflex/C and made a recommendation on whether the federal watchdog agency should approve the device for the U.S. market.

SpinalMotion closed the final tranche of a $15 million funding round that began in June 2011, according to a regulatory filing.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based medical device company raised a total of $15.1 million in the offering of debt, options and warrants from 15 unnamed investors, according to the filing.

Misonix gains 19% on swing to black | Wall Street Beat

Misonix (NSDQ:MSON) shares are up 19% today after the medical device company swung to black ink for its fiscal 4th quarter and full year.

Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Misonix posted profits of $366,000, or 5¢ per share, on sales of $1.7 million for the 12 months ended June 30 – for a 26.7% top-line gain that helped Misonix swing from a $3.5 million loss during its last fiscal year.

Urologix touts five-year study on enlarged prostrate treatment | Research roundup

Urologix Inc. (NSDQ:ULGX) is heralding the results of a long-term study on its enlarged prostate treatment device.

Data from a study published in The Journal of Urology show that the Minneapolis-based medical device manufacturer’s Cooled ThermoTherapy (CTT) is safe and effective at treating both symptoms and obstruction associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), the company reported.
