Endosense and GE Healthcare have inked a deal to jointly develop an all-in-one catheter ablation system for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
Endosense is merging tip-to-tissue data from its force-sensing catheter with GE’s CardioLab electrophysiology recording and Innova imaging platforms.

The FDA announced today that it cleared the Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) Biograph, the first device to perform positron emission tomography scanning and magnetic resonance imaging scanning at the same time.
PET scans allow physicians to see how organs are functioning by injecting radioactive tracers into a patient’s blood stream and MRIs use magnetic fields and radiowaves to create detailed images of organs, soft tissues, bones and other body structures.

Endosense SA signed a deal with Siemens AG’s (NYSE:SI) healthcare unit to development cardiac ablation visualization software using its TactiCath "force-sensing" catheter for arrhythmia treatment.
The Geneva-based company’s TactiCath device gives cardiologists "a real-time, objective measure of contact force" during catheter ablation procedures, according to the company.

BG Medicine inks development pact with Siemens
BG Medicine Inc. entered into a development agreement with Siemens Healthcare (NYSE:SI) diagnostics division for a heart-failure test.
The Waltham, Mass.-based diagnostics firm will develop and commercialize a test for its galectin-3 biomarker for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc.’s automated immunoassay platforms, according to a press release.
Boston Scientific moves to make ultrasound device more compatible
Boston Scientific Corp. (NYSE:BSX) collaborated with Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) and Siemens Medical Solutions (NYSE:SI) to make its iLab ultrasound imaging system compatible with their X-ray devices.
The Natick, Mass.-based medical device maker successfully tested the integration of its intravascular ultrasound device with the Philips Allura Xper and the Siemens Axiom Artis and Artis zee interventional X-ray systems for cardiac catheterization laboratories or radiology suites.
