NuVasive spends $5M on Ohio implant contract manufacturer
NuVasive Inc. (NSDQ:NUVA) said it paid $4.5 million to buy 1 of its contract manufacturing partners, ANC LLC, based in Fairmont, Ohio.
The San Diego-based medical device company said ANC, a partner since 2010, is "1 of NuVasive’s significant implant suppliers."

NuVasive opens in Japan
NuVasive (NSDQ:NUVA) said it set up shop in Tokyo, making the Japanese capital its 8th international location.
The San Diego, Calif.-based medical device company said the new operation will be headed by Takaaki Tanaka, its executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region. Tanaka has been with the company since 2009, according to a press release.

Despite that dubious pedigree, Walton told MassDevice.com that he was unprepared for the overwhelming nerve pain from a degenerative disc in his back that left him on the floor for nearly 3 years.
FDA inspectors warn NuVasive on marketing for Affix spinal implants
Federal regulators warned NuVasive (NSDQ:NUVA) this month about certain promotional claims made in connection with the company’s spinal products.
The FDA in October 2012 inspected NuVasive’s San Diego, Calif., manufacturing facility, finding only the single violation regarding marketing language for the company’s Affix Spinous Process Plate System.
NuVasive gains on narrower Q4 losses, revenue beat
Shares of NuVasive Inc. (NSDQ:NUVA) closed up nearly 7% yesterday after the medical device company reported narrowing its 4th-quarter losses by some 73% and beat Wall Street’s sales expectations for the quarter.
The San Diego-based spinal implant maker posted losses of $2.7 million, or 6¢ per share, on sales of $165.8 million for the 3 months ended Dec. 31, 2012, for sales growth of 10.4%.
