Covidien lands $1.5 billion credit facility | Deals roundup
Covidien Plc. (NYSE:COV) announced a new agreement for a five year $1.5 billion senior unsecured revolving credit facility, secured through subsidiary Covidien International Finance S.A.
The new agreement replaces a prior five-year senior credit facility that was slated to mature in April 2012, and the funds will be allocated for general corporate purposes, including working capital and capital expenditures.

Nuance taps Siemens Health Services CEO to lead healthcare division
Nuance Communications Inc. (NSDQ:NUAN) tapped the former CEO of Siemens Health Services, Janet Dillione, to be executive vice president and general manager of its healthcare business.
The Burlington, Mass.-based speech and imaging software provider is looking to increase its penetration into the healthcare provider market with its clinical documentation offerings. The speech recognition software is designed to transcribe doctors’ oral remarks into medical records. Dillione will report to Nuance chairman and CEO Paul Ricci, according to a press release.
