Tegra Medical names J. Mark King new CEO

Mark was promoted from his current role of Chief Operating Officer, in which he has overseen the company’s four facilities in Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Costa Rica. Mr. King joined Tegra Medical in 2012 with 20+ years of broad-based operations, sales, engineering and manufacturing experience in medical device businesses, both in branded product lines and in contract manufacturing. GPO: Premier adds another member to its women- and minority-owned supplier program

Broadline Medical Inc., a Richmond, Calif.-based medical supplies maker, won a contract to supply sponges and towels to group purchasing organization Premier healthcare alliance.

The GPO is touting the deal as part of its diversity program to help female, minority and veteran-owned businesses. The program, called SEEDS (Sourcing Education & Enrichment for Diverse & Small Suppliers) has 4 existing members.

Premier and Sysmex American re-up their contract for the 15th year running

Sysmex America landed 3 contracts with Premier healthcare alliance for hematology and urinalysis products, marking the 15th consecutive year of deals with the GPO. Sysmex American is the U.S.-based subsidiary of Japanese diagnostic device company Sysmex Inc.

Jabil buys Nypro for $665 million

Nypro

Nypro Inc. said it agreed to a $665 million buyout from Jabil Circuit (NYSE: JBL), 1 of the largest contract manufacturers in the world.

Clinton, Mass.-based Nypro manufactures plastic products and components for the healthcare, packaging and consumer goods markets. The privately-held company has about 12,000 employees worldwide and generates roughly $1 billion per year in sales.
