Israel-based maker Syneron Medical (NSDQ:ELOS) sued a pair of rival companies over devices that allegedly infringe on 2 Syneron patents for skin ablation technology.
Syneron claimed that EndyMed Medical and Eclipse Aesthetics infringe on the patents by selling use electrodes to apply ablative energy to the skin.
The lawsuit targets various EndyMed and Eclipse products, naming in particular Pro and Glow skin tightening and resurfacing systems and associated hand-pieces, which were developed by EndyMed and supplied by Eclipse.
Syneron is seeking a jury trial and permanent injunctions against the defendants over the patents, which were issued in 2000 and 2004.
