
Former life sciences venture capitalist Sue Siegel is taking over as CEO of the Healthymagination unit of GE‘s (NYSE:GE) health care division.
Siegel was most recently a general partner at Mohr Davido Ventures where she lead the VC firm’s molecular diagnostics and digital health investment unit. Her new role at GE includes head of Healthymagination as well as GE Corporate VP.
The Healthymagination division is a $6 billion initiative encouraging innovations that bring down the cost of health care. Unit fund manager Noah Lewis recently told reporters that business is on the lookout for promising startups.
Siegel will direct the unit’s $250 million investment fund and Open Innovation Challenge, initially focused on early-stage breast cancer, according to a press release.
Laser-maker Lumenis names Tzipi Ozer-Armon CEO
Israel-based medical laser maker Lumenis handed Tzipi Ozer-Armon the keys to the corner office. She was previously head of Japanese market activities for Teva Pharmaceuticals.

Former Covidien CEO Meelia joins board at Apollo Endosurgery
Former Covidien’s (NYSE:COV) chairman & CEO Richard Meelia joined the board of directors at Austin, Texas-based endoscopic surgery devices maker Apollo Endosurgery.
Meelia is set to fill a newly created seat on the board as of July 1. He retired from Covidien late last year.
