
Sterilization and decontamination technology firm Steris Corp. (NYSE:STE) opened a new European headquarters in Bordeaux, France.
In the 85,000 square-foot facility, Steris combined marketing, manufacturing, sales, costumer service and research & development.
The Bordeaux headquarters houses more than 150 staff relocated from other Steris locations and the surgical products maker said it plans to add 100 more posts within the next few years, according to Cleanroom-technology.

The cohesive make-up of the new facility will allow for a more rapid development of new products by ensuring closer ties between technicians, application specialists and R&D teams, according to the news site.
The medical device maker also created a Center of Excellence in the same compound that includes technical training facilities and a large research & development showroom.
Steris plans to create jobs stateside as well. The med-tech maker said it’s planning "a significant investment involving a number of jobs" in Ohio, according to Cleveland.com.
Job creation has been a scarce thing in the medical device world lately.
Stryker (NYSE:SYK) recently made good on a promise to cut jobs ahead of the 2.3% med-tech tax by shuttering two New York plants, leaving 160 out of work.
British orthopedic giant Smith & Nephew (NYSE:SNN) completed a round of recent layoffs, including 24 cuts in Massachusetts. SNN also terminated 80 positions in Tennessee.
