Smiths Medical this week said it signed a distribution agreement with Medline Industries for its Portex Acapella Choice Vibratory PEP Therapy device.
“The distribution partnership with Medline provides improved access to our Acapella Choice device for patients within the non-acute and home care settings,” senior director of global marketing and general manager Nirav Sheth said in a press release. “This is an important channel within the full continuum of care, and we are very excited about what this opportunity brings to Smiths Medical, Medline and the patients treated in non-acute settings.”
The Acapella Choice system is designed to mobilize secretions. It combines benefits from PEP therapy and airway vibrations to help mobilize pulmonary secretions and can be used in any position to allow patients to move freely during the treatment, according to the company.
