On Site Gas Systems gets around.
The Newington, Conn.-based company’s portable oxygen generators can be found in military medical facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan. Its nitrogen generators are used in Indian oil fields.
In fact, On Site Gas works with private companies and governments in about 70 countries across the globe, providing generators to the electronic and medical industries that create nitrogen and oxygen by separating the gases from ambient air.
The devices, which can produce up to 75,000 cubic feet of nitrogen or oxygen per hour, cost between $2,300 to $330,000, according to On Site salesman Peter Keough.
The units produce oxygen that is between 93 to 99.995 percent pure, a level most often required by the electronics industry, Keough told MassDevice.
Companies can see a return in their investment in the generator in about a year and a half, he said.
