Samsung Electronics (LON:BC94) said it landed 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its S Health app.
The S Health app pulls biometric variables from 3rd-party devices, including calories burned, projected heart rate, blood glucose, blood pressure and sleep efficiency.
The app has been cleared in the U.K. since 2012. FDA clearance means that the data collected can be shared with other medical devices, according to a report.
The technology giant has many other moves in mHealth as well, recently partnering with AirStrip to incorporate the AirStrip ONE mobile interoperability solution with Samsung’s tablets and PCs.
