SafeStitch Medical (OTC:SFES) said it hired Joseph Slattery, the former finance chief at Baxano (NSDQ:BAXS), to be its new CFO. Baxano said it named Timorth Shannon, a former Talecris Biotherapeutics finance executive, to be Slattery’s interim replacement.
Slattery’s resume includes a stint as CFO of molecular diagnostics company Digene Corp. He was a director of Micromet until it was acquired by Amgen in March 2012 and serves on the boards of medical device maker CVRx and molecular diagnostics firm Exosome Diagnostics, according to a press release.
Shannon has been consulting for Baxano since March, according to a separate release. In addition to Talecris, his CV includes tenures as CFO of Harris Wholesale and audit director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, according to that release.
Baxano also tapped Defibtech veteran Greg Slusser as vice president of commercial operations, according to the release. The company also said it’s put a putative class action lawsuit behind it after a federal court ruled to dismiss the case with prejudice.
